Release 7.5 of Magaya software has new features and enhancements to help you
manage General Rate Increases (GRI) from carriers and give your customers access
to place sales orders, shipping orders, and pickup orders online. Also new is
the Magaya ISF plug-in to comply with the US Customs “10+2” Importer Security
Filing requirement.
Here is an overview of the new features and benefits:
Cargo Operations:
Rate and Contract Manager: The new
version of Magaya software gives you the ability to enter your carrier or client
contracts and apply contract amendments or General Rate Increases (GRIs).
Options include generating rates in a batch for different origin and destination
ports; entering your own rates, or copying rates from other entities. You can
also set up the rates per commodity, and the system will use the appropriate
rate depending on the types of commodities you are moving.
Automatic Document Selection: Specify
which documents are to be used for each type of shipment such as Incoming or
Outgoing, Master or House, Air, Ocean or Ground shipment. The system will
auto-select these documents for you every time you create a shipment or a
consolidation.
Improvement to the Liquidation Process:
The date for generated transactions can be configured to be today’s date or the
shipment creation date, the departure date or arrival date.
Auto Updates of Freight Charges: Now
automatic updates are available for rates when you make changes to a transaction
such as measurements or add cargo. The rate will update automatically – no more
manual updating of the rate. Previously this feature was available only for
those charges generated by the system, but now it is available for charges that
you enter manually.
Communication Features:
Online Shipping Orders: Give your
customers the opportunity to place Online Shipping Orders in Magaya LiveTrack
from the existing cargo they have at your warehouse. Customers can create Cargo
Releases or Shipments for all modes of transport.
Online Pickup Orders: Give your
customers the option to submit Pickup Order requests online in Magaya LiveTrack.
They specify where and when to pick up loose cargo or a container, and customers
can print the labels immediately and place them on the boxes, ensuring accurate
pickup.
Online Sales Orders: Wholesalers can
sell inventory online by adding the inventory items, setting prices, and adding
product images in the new Inventory Organizer inside Magaya software. Create
different product categories for your online store, and give your customers
access to it via Magaya LiveTrack so they can place Online Sales Orders,
ensuring accurate order input and saving processing time.
Importer Security Filing (ISF): Send
the Importer Security Filing to US Customs from within your Magaya system to
comply with the new “10+2” import regulations.
Send Invoices via Transaction Tracking:
Invoices have been added to the Magaya Transaction Tracking feature. You can
send the link to an invoice from your Magaya system. Customers will always see
an updated invoice with the latest changes.
Extension to the Magaya API: New
functions have been added that will allow the retrieval of entities and
contacts; submit new rates or entities; and submit Cargo Releases or Shipments
that will load the items from the existing inventory.
Improvement to the Transmission of
Messages: When sending a message to another system, the message is
compressed, reducing the size of large attachments and enabling faster
communication.
Magaya Explorer Interface Features:
Inventory Organizer: Organize your
inventory in your Magaya software by category to improve searching. In addition
the categories can be used in the Online Sales Orders in Magaya LiveTrack to
help your customers place orders more easily.
Scan Part Numbers: Now available from
within the Magaya Explorer Warehouse Receipts and Pickup Orders screen, part
number barcodes can be scanned so the data populates the Commodities tab of the
transaction, speeding up the process of entering data when using any PC and
scanner. No more manual typing of data.
Add Internal Notes for Entities: Each
entity profile dialog box such as Customers, Carriers, Vendors, etc. now has an
Internal Notes tab on their profile. This allows tracking the history of your
interactions with any customer or vendor.
Resell Services: When a user creates
an expense charge or income charge manually, the system automatically creates
the related charge for you. This automation can be set up in the Items and
Services dialog box. This will help ensure you do not miss the opportunity to
resell services.
Accounting Features:
Improvement to Closing Accounting Periods:
You can restrict access to modifications of previous fiscal years. The system
will request a password in order to modify the transactions in a previous fiscal
year.
Security:
Improvement to Magaya Explorer Log System:
Now you can easily see the history of a specific transaction when a transaction
is open. From the Options menu at the top of your Magaya Explorer, select “View
Log for this Transaction”. The system also keeps track of previous numbers of
any transaction.
