CEO and Board Member
A charismatic and visionary leader, Gary brings decades of software industry experience to his role at Magaya. Having most recently served as CEO and board member of IQMS Software, Gary previously held the role of COO at HighJump Software, Senior VP at Infor, and was the founder and CEO of DataTrend Information Systems, which provided ERP solutions to the JD Edward and PeopleSoft community. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Behavioral Psychology from Northwestern University and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
Michael brings to Magaya his wealth of experience investing in and growing SaaS and technology companies. He has served as a Board Member at Magaya since early 2019. Having joined LLR Partners in 2007, where he is now a Principal, Michael also sits on the board of several technology companies. Michael holds a Bachelor of Economics with a Finance concentration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
A senior private equity investment professional, David shares his extensive software industry experience, leadership, and business development capabilities with the Magaya team in his role as Board Member. David is also a Partner with LLR Partners, a private equity firm committed to creating long-term value by growing its portfolio companies including Magaya. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from Lehigh University.
Jesus David Rodriguez
Chief Strategy Officer, Co-Founder,
and Board Member
As one of the founding partners, Jesus has devoted the last twenty years of his life to building Magaya into the successful enterprise it is today. Jesus has held several key leadership roles in the company, starting as President before moving on to Co-CEO, and now Chief Strategy Officer. His passion for engineering, customer service, and teamwork is infused in the Magaya culture and has contributed to the success of the company over the years. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Computer Science from Technological University of Habana José Antonio Echeverría, Havana, Cuba.
Jose is one of the founding partners at Magaya, where he began as Vice-President of Technology before moving on to Co-CEO, and now Chief R&D Officer. His commitment to technical excellence and innovation has been paramount to the company’s growth and success over the past twenty years. He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from Polytechnic University José Antonio Echeverría, where he also served as a Professor of Software Engineering.
Gabriel T. Ruz Jr.
Chief Innovation Officer, Co-Founder, and Board Member
One of the founding partners at Magaya, Gabriel made many of the company’s early sales. As a current Board Member, he continues to be involved in driving corporate revenue through new products, sales initiatives, alliances, and acquisitions. His keen entrepreneurial spirit and expertise in automation technology, international business, and management have been – and continue to be – integral to the company’s success since its inception in 2001. Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from Purdue University Global.
Chief Revenue Officer
Mark brings more than 20 years of technology sales experience to his role as Chief Revenue Officer at Magaya. Prior to joining the acquisition team at Magaya, Mark served as SVP of Sales for IQMS Software and held leadership roles at HighJump and Infor. Mark brings to Magaya his experience in growing highly-effective enterprise sales teams coupled with a deep understanding of the supply chain, plus technical expertise with business software.
Chief Financial Officer
With more than eight years of financial management experience in the Software as a Service industry, Luis leads the Finance & HR teams at Magaya. His leadership, strategic vision, and problem-solving abilities make Luis a great addition to the management team at Magaya, where he has served as CFO since 2015. Luis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance and an MBA in Finance from the College of Business at Florida International University.
Chief Customer Officer
Nomar has been committed to customer success since he joined Magaya in 2011, serving as Operations Manager for several years before being promoted to Chief Customer Officer in 2019. Prior to his start at Magaya, Nomar held leadership roles in IT at several other companies, helping him understand the needs of our clients. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the College of Business at Florida International University.
Jose Javier Perez
Chief Technology Officer, Magaya
Jose has been an integral part of the technical excellence of Magaya solutions since the company’s early days. Joining the company as a Software Developer in 2005, he later moved on to a Software Architect role before being promoted to Chief Technical Officer in 2019. Jose knows the software inside and out and is constantly focused on innovating and evolving the solutions to keep Magaya customers on the cutting edge of supply chain technology.
Chief Technology Officer, ACELYNK
A creative and forward-thinking IT professional with more than 30 years of experience leading the production of client-focused software solutions, Matthew recently joined the Magaya team through the acquisition of ACELYNK. Matthew founded ACELYNK in 2011, where he was deeply involved in the technical aspects of building the industry-leading platform for customs compliance. Prior to founding ACELYNK, Matthew founded and grew a number of other successful technology companies.
Chief Technology Officer, Rate Management
David’s 15 years at Catapult have been spent working tirelessly on IT strategy and architecture, including management of a global team of highly qualified software engineers. With extensive experience in Agile technologies, operations management, and Software as a Service, David holds a Master of Science in Information Science and Technology from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Chief Operating Officer, Rate Management
With more than 15 years of experience in the logistics technology industry, Virgil brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. As Chief Operating Officer, Rate Management, Virgil is responsible for leading the execution of the Catapult strategy and shaping the company’s product vision to continue leading digitization in the shipping industry. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Drew University.
Vice President of Marketing
Judy brings more than 10 years of software marketing experience to her role at Magaya. Prior to joining Magaya, Judy served as Director of Marketing for Mi9 Retail where she managed multiple successful projects and campaigns to grow revenue and increase profitability. Previous to Mi9 Retail, Judy held marketing management roles with technology companies including, Cipher, Total Defense, and CA Technologies. Judy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Providence College.
Director of Technical and Educational Documentation
Marie has been a key member of the Magaya team since 2008, serving as Manager of Education and Communications before being promoted to Director of Technical and Educational Documentation in 2020. She is a talented writer, with her work being published in the Miami Herald, South Florida CEO Magazine, and other local and national publications. Prior to joining Magaya, Marie served as a writer and instructional designer for nearly a decade at several South Florida businesses. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of South Florida as well as a Master of English from the University of South Carolina.
Chief Technology Officer, Digital Forwarding
Martyn’s experience in logistics dates back 15 years to handling import containers in Rotterdam. Throughout his career he’s been involved in roles ranging from operations to process management, IT, and sales. Since founding Qwyk in 2017, Martyn has built highly scalable and distributed applications used by logistics companies in all market segments.
Chief Operating Officer, Marketplaces
Cory was the Co-Founder and CEO of SimpliShip, which was acquired by Magaya in 2021. Prior to SimpliShip he spent his career on the BCO side of the business working for brands such as adidas, Reebok, and Rockport in various supply chain roles ranging from logistics to sourcing and warehousing. After the acquisition, Cory is now the COO of Marketplaces for Magaya. He is passionate about the intersection of technology and supply chain and how technology can solve real day to day problems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations and Quality Management from Merrimack College and a Master of Science in Operations Design and Leadership from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
